St George Dragons’ club legend Gavin “Gadget” Raper will play his 200th senior game this weekend in Division Two.
Raper will line up as Playing coach of the Dragon’s Ressies side as they play Sydney University for the right to play in the 2012 Grand Final against UNSW/Easts.
Below is a tribute from the club:
Gadget joined the Dragons in 1994 and played 36 times for the Under 18’s. His initial first grade appearance was in 1995 and rarely did he play other than first grade until he answered the plea from the club to return and coach. It is no coincidence that since he put the boots back on mid-way through this season, the Ressies having lost only twice in their past 13 matches.
Gavin has one every accolade that the club can award including first grade B&F on more than one occasion. He is a Life Member of the club and has held many positions in the club’s administration being Treasurer for the last 4 years.
Gadget embodies the DNA of the St George Dragons.
