Can a lucky Bombers outfit sneak through and steal the premiership? History may repeat itself as this same side was the 2010 Under 14 premiers and the Bombers were in a similar position.
The Bombers haven’t been at full strength all year and it was only last week that they took the field at full strength. South Toowoomba welcomed back Captain Jacob Schaumann from a long term injury lay off and also welcomed inclusions of Flannery, Lumsden and Gillett.
Coolaroo on the other hand have been at full strength all year and were unlucky to miss out on a top 2 finish and the all important second chance. The Roo’s have class all over the entire field with the likes of Corey Bellert, Harry Marshall, Scott Baker and Samuel Copland.
Key match ups for this no second chance clash;
Bellert V Schaumann: Both are different types of players, Bellert a silky left footer that makes good decisions with the football in hand. Schaumann an in and under tough nut, that is a gut runner.
Schmidt V Creeks: Both very good ruckmen but again two different players. Schmidt is your old school ruckman who is a very good tap ruck and sits the kick behind play. Creeks on the other hand is your new age ruckman who is very agile, moves forward to kick goals and can play as a ruck rover if need be.
Marshall V Flannery: These two shouldn’t line up against each other but should both line up at Centre Half Forward for their respective clubs. Both players are your modern day centre-half forwards, cover so much territory and have taken the initiative by developing their game further at under 18 Crows level and both their sides will benefit from this. Whichever CHF can put the pressure of finals footy out of their head first will lead their side to victory.
Its confuzzling even trying to pick a winner in this clash because you just don’t know what is going to happen, one thing is for sure one team will progress on and one team will finish up for season 2012.
