The Warwick Redbacks will be looking to stop the Dalby juggernaut and take over as the superior country club on the Darling Downs. Dalby will be fresh after a Round 18 bye and Warwick are well tuned like the 64th note on a musical instrument – Hemidemisemiquaver after their Round 18 win.
The Reddies are coming off two impressive wins in Round 17/18 and will be primed to face the powerhouse Swannies. Neither side will have the home ground advantage and whichever side can gather the most support at Gold Park may prove to be the difference in the end.
Don’t read much into the result last time these two sides met as it was one sided but everyone knows finals football is different.
Warwick will need to stop the likes of Riley Easton, Danielle Wall and Lachlan Town as all three are pivotal to the Swans success. Lachlan went to town on the Reddies last time booting 7 majors in the round 16 thumping.
So how do the Reddies turn around their losing form against the Swans? It is easier said than done but the Redbacks brain trust will need to do a few things if they are to continue on this season;
- Stop Riley Easton’s influence on the game, a possible negating role by a defensive midfielder – either Jarven Chicken or Jack Naumann should get the role.
- Don’t kick the footy down the corridor to Danielle Wall. Wall has dominated the competition this year and will be a good showing the league best and fairest – teams seem to kick straight towards Wall, take it wider.
- Stop Lachlan Town, Warwick will need to send their best defender to Town, probably Roulston is the man for the job.
If only footy was that easy and it all happened at the click of our fingers, best of luck to both sides in this clash.
