Talented St George youngster, Lloyd Perris has been named in the AIS-AFL Academy.
Perris, 17, was the inaugural member of the QBE Academy in 2010, he was named the most valuable player for NSW/ACT at last year’s Under 16 AFL national championships and was also awarded the prestigious Cameron Ling Medal.
The medal, named after Geelong’s premiership-winning 2011 captain, was voted on by the best young footballers in Australia, who were Perris’ team-mates in the Australian Institute of Sport-AFL Academy squad which has just returned from a tour to New Zealand.
The 17 year-old who is yet to play a game this year due to a knee reconstruction late last year has impressed many with not only his skills but his attitude and approach.
Perris was one of four AFL NSW/ACT Rams to be named in this year's intake.
