It has been a massive year for the Darling Downs region, as participation records are set to be smashed. From club football to the ever popular NAB AFL Auskick program the Darling Downs region has seen an increase right across all fields.
The NAB AFL Auskick program is set to break the record of 2,020 set in 2011 as the program continues to grow in popularity. The top 6 Auskick centres for 2012 were;
1: Toowoomba Preparatory School (129)
2: Dalby AFC (97) & Hatton Vale State School (97)
3: Rangeville State School (83)
4: Glenvale State School (76)
5: Chinchilla Centre (75)
6: Fairview Heights State School (74)
Also the club participation numbers are to tumble as club footy prospers with 1,330 players pulling on the boots on a Saturday from Under 8's through to Seniors. This breaks the old mark of 1,103 set in 2011 also.

Again another area that had a massive increase is the regions schools programs. The previous record set in 2010 with a total of 2,289 was broken this year with 2,586 running around in Schools Coles Programs.
It has been a massive year, with the current AFL participation figures at 5,906 this is set to go above the 2012 target of 6,000 - which is a participation increase of over 14% great results for the region.
