It was City V Country, Private V State - Crow's Nest State School verses Concordia College and Crow's Nest State School ran out 7point victors in the final of the Secondary School girls Brisbane Lions Cup.
Crow's Nest State School started the better of the two sides kicking the first goal of the game in the opening minutes, as Concordia was only able to record a behind for the opening term.
Crow's Nest again started well and flew out of the blocks kicking the first two goals of the second quarter, as Concordia recorded their first goal of the game. Crow's Nest extended their quarter time lead to a 10point lead at half-time.
In a low scoring third quarter, Concordia was the only side to record any type of score kicking three behinds which would end up to be a wasteful three behinds.
The fourth quarter was a score-less quarter that saw both sides struggle to get past the flanks on either side, as both schools battled it out in a low scoring final. Crow's Nest ran out 7 points victors in their new school jerseys, as they continue to make a name for themselves in the school AFL arena.
Full Time score: Crow's Nest State School 3.0 (18) defeated. Concordia College 1.5 (11)
