BBNZ New CEO Announced - Letter from BBNZ Board and Media Release
The board of BBNZ are pleased to announce the appointment of Iain Potter as the new CEO of BBNZ
The recruitment process has been thorough and the support and assistance of Sport New Zealand has been a critical part of the process. Appointing the chief executive has been a very important task for the Board. We undertook a thorough search to find the right blend of commercial, leadership, personal skills and experience to mee the challenges facing basketball in New Zealand.
Having just completed work on the "All of Basketball Pathway Plan' the board agreed tha Iain was ideally equipped to manage the implementation of the framework as we continue to grow the sport across all levels.
Iain's most recent role was CEO of the Health Sponsorship Council and he is currently a director on the Wellington Rugby Football Union Board.
Iain will begin at Basketball New Zealand's Wellington office on 17 September and will work alongside interim CEO Murray Strong during a Transition period through the end of October.
