The Darling Downs Crows are gearing up for the last Under 14/18 Double header of the season, as the 14's look to face the Kenmore Bears from 12:30pm and the Under 18's are in action from 2:30pm against the Wynnum Vikings.
The Under 14's are on the verge of making the finals and a win over Kenmore would see them edge closer to a 2012 finals appearance, which would be fantastic in their maiden season.
While the Under 18's are looking to keep their 2012 run in tact, the 18's have not lost a game this season and aren't looking to now. Some might say that you don't want to go through any season undefeated and dropping a game isn't that bad but not Crows 18's coach Jeff Neumann.
"Every team, every weekend goes out to win, we aren't going out there to lose at all. We will set up and I will make sure the boys have the same preparation as they have all season", Coach Neumann said on the prospect of going through the season undefeated.
"We set a goal at the start of the year that we want to go out there and be competitive (in) every game and we have, we have a 12 win 1 draw record for the year, so we will go into this clash looking to improve that to 13wins and then we will focus on going into finals to improve," Neumann also added.
Last time the Crows played Wynnum, Darling Downs came away with 10.11 (71) to 8.6 (54) victory and allowed Wynnum back into the contest, with the Vikings kicking 4 final quarter goals to 1.
"We took our foot off the pedal in the last quarter when we last played the Vikings but we have learnt from that, we will make sure at every stage we are switched on and on top of our game", Crows coach Jeff Neumann said on the last time the Crows faced the Vikings.
"It would be great for the region to get behind both teams and get down to Rockville Oval on Sunday to cheer them on"
