AFL Sydney have pulled off a coup in securing the services of broadcasting identity, Hamish McLachlan as MC for their Gala Off-Field event the Phelan Medal Presentation Dinner which will be held on Monday, 10 September 2012 at Darling Island Wharf, Pyrmont.
McLachlan co-hosts AFL Game Day on Sunday mornings, and calls AFL matches for the Seven Network and Triple M on the weekend. McLachlan is also an anchor and caller of the Australian Open tennis tournament for the Seven Network.
The entertainment will be provided by Australia’s Number 1 ventriloquist, Darren Carr.
For the first time, the AFL Sydney Women’s awards will also be presented.
Kieran Wright (pictured with NSW/ACT General Manager, Tom Harley) is the reigning Phelan Medallist and given his form this year, which included selection in the NSW/ACT Representative Team, will be a chance of going back to back.
Over 500 people are expected to attend the evening, and if you would like to be part of the action please either contact your club or Tennille Callaway at tennille.callaway@aflnswact.com.au
