Warwick are clear by a game and half in fourth place at the moment but will want to keep that break between them and the Bombers, as they look to hunt down the Lions at Kratzke Oval.
Highfields will come into this game fresh after the week off and will be looking to stop the celestial Redbacks at home. Warwick will be on a high after last week when every player that played kicked at least 1 major in the win over Pittsworth.
Josh Read has become a very damaging player in 2012; the midfielder has kicked 24 goals in 10 games this season and is sending his opponents crazy, much like a schizophrenic patient. He is a classy left-footer who just runs and runs and will need to be watched closely in this game.
Another player to watch in a Redback’s Guernsey is their skipper Scott See, who is in terrific form. The Reddies ruckman is much like a midfielder and his ability to read the play is first class.
Highfields on the other hand haven’t played much footy in the past month and will be keen for the tough hit out with the Reddies. Stackelberg will more than likely get the job on the Reddies skipper and will use his laser like left boot to damage the Reddies through the midfield. Bryce (Stackelberg) has been in good form throughout the season and will need to step it up against the formidable Redbacks.
The Lions will need Evans, Collison and Stark to all roar if they are to come away from the clash with the four premiership points and give their very slim finals hopes a chance.
Both sides have a relatively tough draw in the race to the finals and wins are absolute gold, a win today to Warwick will see them one step closer to their dreams of playing come finals. Who will get up only one way to check and that is get down to Kratzke Oval this Saturday at 12:30pm.
In other Round 15 matches Pittsworth travel to Dalby to take on the Swannies in Under 12’s and 16’s. Arch rivals Coolaroo and South Toowoomba face off at South Park in all age groups, while Goondiwindi and University will play each other in the Under 12’s and 14’s at Riddles Oval.
Lockyer Valley will head to Rockville Oval to take on the might East Stingers and Highfields host Warwick in the Under 12’s and Under 14’s also.
