Kids kick off NAIDOC program

Harristown State High School was bustling with up-and-coming sports stars at the community fun day.

Toowoomba Warriors committee member Trish Cochrane was busy trying to co-ordinate a mass of knee-high athletes as they interchanged between basketball, AFL, rugby league, tennis and swimming lessons.

"It's all about getting kids active and encouraging them to continue playing sport," she said.

"We have representatives from different sporting organisations here to help the kids."

NAIDOC Week celebrations continue this week with events ranging from church services and flag raisings to an art exhibition and a blue light disco.

The week will end with the NAIDOC Awards Dinner at City Golf Club on Saturday from 6pm.
