Thank you to both coaches, Tanya Leonard of Port Adelaide (also U16 State School girls Coach) and Narelle Smith of Morphettville Park (also State U18 Coach, State Open Women's Assistant Coach and Academy Coach).
Morphettville Park put in a solid effort throughout the game considering they were light on in numbers. It was a very competitive and clean game which displayed Women's Football at its best. Both Clubs should be very proud of their achievements
Thank you must also go to the other two Clubs in West Adelaide/Central District and Modbury for entering their teams into the competition. The League can only hope that in 2013 this competition will grow and include teams from the remainder of the SAWFL Clubs. This competition, although with hiccups along the way, was a great way to introduce new female players to Women's Football and hopefully these players will continue to participate in football for years to come.
Football games cannot be successful without the Umpires and special thanks goes to Mark Crump and Simon Johnson the Field Umpires on the night and Dianne and Joshua Johnson, Goal Umpires.
Congratulations Port Adelaide
