ONLY twelve points separated these two sides in Round 6, as a final quarter comeback wasn't enough as the Warwick Redbacks won 11.4 (70) 8.10 (58) at Baker Street.
Warwick are currently sitting in the top 4, clear of University by four premiership points. This is an old classic 8 point game for the young Reddies, a win will almost secure a spot in the top 4, while a loss will see both these sides go head to head for the remainder of the season level on premiership points.
University will need to travel to Roddies Oval switched on, they have the toughest draw of the two teams run to the finals and a win here will help them out a lot.
In round 6 Warwick kicked 4 goals to zero in the first quarter and the Cougars were on the back foot right from the get go. A second half blitz wasn't enough for Uni as the Reddies held onto a slender 12point victory away from home.
The Chicken brothers along with Fletcher, Naumann and Meiklejohn were the standouts and will need to perform again. University will have to watch Callais Chicken very closely as he tore them apart from the midfielder booting 6 goals in a best on ground performance.
Jack Wilson probably would have been the perfect match up for Chicken but Wilson sustained a broken arm in last weeks fixture, so Cameron Bolton of Uni may get the job on the Redbacks key man.
If University can start well they will be well in the game, as Warwick have struggled in the final quarter of a few key games this season. The Redbacks ability to run and carry the footy could be the difference in this fixture. This game could go either way, the DDAFLJ Free admission is an absolute bargain to watch these young stars in action.
Don't forget the Under 8's and 10's are in action at Roddies Oval, Harristown Park, Gatton Showgrounds and Kratzke Oval.
The Demons and Roo's will also be in action in the Under 12's, 14's and 16's as will the Bombers and Swans. Stingers and Goondiwindi will be in action in the u12s at Rockville Oval while the Lions and Power Under 12s and 16s are in action at Kratzke Oval.
