THE Dalby Swans will host Lockyer Valley Demons at Owen Street Oval in Round 11, though the Swans are sitting second with 8wins and the Demons eighth with just 2wins this game wouldn't usually get the "GAME OF THE ROUND" status. But with the Countries #1 goal-kicker Tom Matthews out, the Demons will see this as an opportunity to pounce.
If the Demons are to win, they will need consistent stars Mark Healy and Matthew Hughes to stand up and be supported by other key players in Amber Schroen and Mitchell Kelly.
Hughes has been in fantastic form and would normally get the job on Matthews but will be given the freedom today to run and carry and play his style of footy. Hughes has been fantastic through-out the midfield for the Demons this year and has the ability to kick goals; he is currently leading the goal-kicking for the Demons.
Healy plays a different role, as the key running defender and his ability to break the lines is first class. Along with Hughes, Healy has been in superb form and is a key if the Demons are to upset the Swannies.
With Matthews out, Peltz, Jeitz and Ferguson will need to continue their form and the trio will play an important role if the Swans are to continue the second half of the season in the way they finished the first half.
The last time these two sides met was in Round 5, it was very one sided but don't expect it to go that way this time. Dalby and Lockyer will also go to battle in the Under 14's and Under 16s, while the Under 8's and 10's will also be in action from 8:40am.
In other round 11 fixtures; Easts Stingers host Pittsworth Power in the Under 8's and 12's. Coolaroo and Warwick will go head to head in all junior age groups, while University and Highfields will also face each other in all age groups.
South Toowoomba will have the road trip to Goondiwindi, as the Hawks will host the Bombers in Under12's and Under 14's.
