Markiewicz Awarded Coveted Sporting Scholarship
Talented junior basketballer Matthew Markiewicz has been awarded the 2012 Blue Ribbon Insurance Services Junior Sports Excellence Scholarship.
The Blue Ribbon Insurance Services owned by Rick and Michelle Butler has made available $1000 scholarships for the past three years for young sports persons who demonstrate exceptional skills and commitment in their pursuit of excellence in their chosen sports.
Matthew was chosen as the 2012 winner because he typifies criterion for this award.
His personal attitude, preparedness to give of his best in any assignment, natural athletic abilities and strong commitment to give back to his sport of basketball make him a deserved recipient.
He is already a successful state player and shows the potential to be a top line coach and administrator.
The Award also recognizes the support given by Matt’s family.
Rick Butler stated that this community produces young sports persons with undoubted talent but to succeed to their fullest potential, they require a significant investment and sacrifice by the junior and family.
