Basketball Clinics for Local Primary School Students

Basketball Clinics for Local Primary School Students.

SA Country Development Officer, Peter Todd spent a busy time in Mount Gambier last week conducting basketball skills sessions and fun competitions with around 600 primary school students. These sessions are designed to have all participants active and engaged in the many short, sharp drills and practical assignments.

Feedback from children involved and their teachers commented on how much the children enjoyed the sessions and spoke highly of Peter’s work along with his positive, encouraging manner with the children.

Tenison Woods College, Suttontown, Kongorong, Mount Gambier North R-7 and Mulga Street Schools accepted the invitation from Basketball Mount Gambier to have their students experience the free sessions.

Todd is expected to return for similar sessions in late August.

As well as the school clinics, Todd put the three Association Development Groups through a series of drills and skill tests to assess their progress so far this year.

The Under 10 Boys’ and Girls’ squads were also given their first taste of working under the guidance of SA Country’s Development Officer.
