"East Gippsland United Football Club is dedicated to providing a pathway for our members, that includes sporting, social, educational and team building opportunities to give our players, and in particular our youth, identity, skills, security and friendships that can hopefully assist them to live positive and confident lives.

The installation of lights means that EGUFC can utilise Howitt Park to fully implement all competitions, programs and events in line with other Gippsland Clubs. As the biggest outdoor soccer club by participation in Gippsland, the lack of lighting has been limiting, curbing our ability to provide quality facilities outside daylight hours. We will now be able to fully accommodate our junior squad team training sessions throughout winter, which currently consists of four representative teams in the Gippsland Soccer League, as well as accommodating our ever expanding senior men’s and women’s competition. The ability to use the ground with lighting will allow us to grow our summer competition, currently capped at 400 players, so that even more teams can be facilitated meaning more players on the pitch.

We would like to thank everyone involved in bringing this project together; it is amazing to see what can be achieved when people & organisations have Faith, Passion and Unity. Many positive relationships have been formed through this process and we acknowledge the enormous contributions made by the East Gippsland Shire Council, most notably Anthony Nelson and Joanna Loncar.
