Baker Street will host this week’s junior game of the round, as the University Cougars host the powerhouse Dalby Swans for the first time this season.
In a rematch of last year’s Grand-Final where the Swans won in the dying seconds of the game, the Cougars will be looking for redemption. Dalby will be fresh for this blockbuster, having the bye in round 8. On the other hand USQ are coming off are finals like victory over Coolaroo last week.
Connor Pyke is the go to man for the Cougars booting 18majors in just 4 games this year. Pyke has booted 5 goals in each of his last 3 games. Dalby defender Dean Buckley will more than likely get the job on the powerhouse forward.
Gaur and Easton have always been the Swans "danger players" but now the young Dalby side are sharing the footy more as Cook, Warford and Ebbage have stood up in the previous week’s games.
Though both sides will be missing key players due to Under15 representative duties in Cairns and this is where team’s true depths are shown. This time of year it starts to get harder to run out games of footy and the team that shares the footy the most will take this blockbuster out.
It will be a full day at Baker Street, as the Cougars and Swans under 8's, 10's, 12's and 14's also go head to head. In other Round 9 action;
Warwick will host South Toowoomba at Roddies Oval, with all junior age groups in action from 8:40am. Lockyer Valley under 12s will be in action at the Gatton Showgrounds against Goondiwindi. Pittsworth will be hoping to be too powerful for the mighty Roo's at Gold Park in the Under8's, 12's and 16's. Highfields will be looking to Roar and take the sting out of Easts at Kratzke Oval, as the Under 8's and 10's kick proceedings off before the Under 12 game gets under way at 9:45am.
