ROSS A STATE BASKETBALLER

ROSS A STATE BASKETBALLER.

Talented athlete Lauren Ross has gained selection in a second SA sporting team. Lauren experienced the thrill of representing her state in athletics and earlier this month Lauren made it a double when she was named in the 2012 State SAPSASA basketball team to play in the national championships in Melbourne in August. This is a fantastic achievement when one considers that these state teams are usually dominated by metropolitan players.

Lauren, a first year Under 14 player, was pivotal in the Lakers impressive number of successes throughout the recent town team season. She capably carried out playmaking roles given to her by Coach Rohan Harrap. Her maturity and smart reading of games continued to improve as the season unfolded. She can look forward to the coming town team season when she will be one of the key leaders in a potentially talented squad.

Outstanding junior Lakers, Rachael Hines and Brad Rathjen were members of the SAPSASA state basketball teams which travelled to Darwin for the 2010 nationals. Emily Stafford, another accomplished Lakers basketballer, began her state representation career as a member of the state SAPSASA team.
