U19 3x3 Nationals
Basketball Australia will be holding its inaugural 3 on 3 U19 National Championships this year in Sydney from 19 – 21 July 2012.
Basketball Australia are holding this event, as FIBA (the international body) are investing more time and energy into the 3 on 3 discipline as a means to expand the sport of basketball in the future. FIBA are holding an U19 World Cup in Seville Spain from the 27th – 30th September this year and selections for the Australian team will come from those competing in the U19 national tournament in Sydney. The coaches for these teams will also be selected from the pool of coaches at the national tournament.
The details for the national tournament were not finalised until last month and therefore we have a very short timeframe to organize our teams. Each state was given the opportunity to field metro and country teams or simply a men’s and women’s state team. SA Country will indeed be fielding two teams. Below you will find all relevant posters, application and registration forms.
