COOLAROO held out a fast-finishing Dalby side 16.8 (104) to 13.9 (87) to record its fourth straight AFL Darling Downs victory at Gold Park on Saturday.
The match shaped as a potential danger game for the under-strength Coolaroo which was missing eight players to representative duties.
But any chance of an upset was quickly extinguished when the experienced Roos took control of the contest.
The likes of Darren Copland and Daniel Beardsall led from the front as Coolaroo racked up a massive 48-point lead by halftime
Dalby fired up in the second half, outscoring Coolaroo in both quarters, but the margin was too much for the gallant Swans to run down.
The win has Coolaroo level with competition leaders Souths and Tigers after their round seven match was postponed until June 30.
Meanwhile, University walloped Lockyer Valley 33.17 (215) to 1.1 (7) at the Gatton Showgrounds.
Heath Gniel booted 10 goals in the one-sided affair while Joel Yosh (seven) and captain Alan Reilly (six) were also reliable in front of goal.
It was a much-needed win for the Cougars who were losing touch with the top four with some inconsistent form.
And Highfields were too strong for Goondiwindi with a 27.13 (175) to 4.12 (36) victory at Kratzke Oval.
Lions skipper Zach Chimes (11) and Ben Stackelberg (10) ran rampant thanks to a constant supply of ball from the likes of Trent Masters and Cameron Harding.
The comprehensive victory cemented Highfields' spot in the top four while the Hawks are still without a win in 2012.
