Coolaroo host the Dalby Swans in this week’s Allied Pickfords game of the week in what will be a very important game for both clubs.
The Roos have bounced back to form well over the last 3 weeks with solid wins over Highfields, Warwick and Lockyer respectively. Add to this the great form of gun on baller Tom Rudolph who has averaged 5 goals per game from the midfield in his last 3 outings.
After entering the senior competition very late in 2012 the Dalby Swans have gone on to record some terrific results losing to Warwick by 1 straight kick and leading competition front runners Souths at quarter time in last weekend’s clash.
With the senior Darling Downs game Vs Northern Rivers also taking place this weekend both sides may be missing some of their inform players. One would think that Rudolph would be a walk in starter in the DD team along with key position players the Horsfall brothers, Corin Sankey, Michael Casey and Miles Grice. Coolaroo will need their second tier players to stand up today.
In return Dalby would have to be rubbing the hands together with the prospect of playing against a side missing several of its match winners. Richard Malone could be representing the Downs from Dalby but apart from the male model from Mudgee the Swans should be close to full strength.
Young guns Lachie Thomas and Jacob Daff have been in super form for the Swans as has leader Carl Doherty who has given the Swans great drive out of the midfield this season. An important game for the Swans who will want to take advantage of the weaker Coolaroo line up this week and keep touch with the top 4 while Coolaroo won’t want to drop a game against an opponent below them on the ladder.
In other games Lockyer are hosting a University outfit who will be desperate for the 4 points after posting just 2 wins from their opening 5 games while up the mountain the Highfields Lions will be looking to hold onto their 4th position in their game against Goondiwindi.
The much anticipated top of the table clash between the only 2 undefeated teams in Souths and the Toowoomba Tigers has been postponed due to senior representative commitments and will now take place on Saturday 30th June while Warwick have the bye this weekend.
