Not one team has got close to troubling either of these sides in 2012, as the Swans look to face the Roos at Gold Park. Both sides have run out convincing winners in each of their opening 6 games of the Under14 competition and don’t look like slowing down.
In their opening 6 rounds of footy Coolaroo’s average winning margin is 162.6points while the Swans only have a winning margin 92points, yet still impressive and any team would be very happy with that margin.
Coolaroo was without main man Sam Copland in their big win over the Demons in round 6, as Ben Southey and Kale Ross stood up along with Carrie Daley and Savannah Ranford who played pivotal roles. Ranford a Southern Stars representative in 2011 played an important link role for the Roo’s.
It was girl power for the Swans in their win over the Bombers as Danielle Wall and Brigid Gaur, shredded the Bombers to pieces in a classy performance by the duo. Wall plays as the key defender, as her straight line running along with attack on the footy stood out the most. Gaur plays as a small forward and kicked two goals while setting up many others in attack for Dalby.
Key match ups will be Danielle Wall (Swans) V Carrie Daley (Roos) and Savannah Ranford (Roos) V Brigid Gaur (Swans). Another important match up will be the battle of the captains in the midfield; Coolaroo’s Sam Copland will be important as he lines up against Swans skipper Riley Easton.
A mouth watering contest which will be the game not to miss this Saturday at Gold Park 11:00am. Coolaroo will also play the Swans in the Under 8’s, 10’s, 12’s and 16’s at Gold Park.
