Wildcats lose last pre-season game

The Warwick Wildcats have played their last home game of their pre-season matches against fellow D-League team, Logan Thunder on Saturday night. The Thunder were too strong for the Wildcats, winning 114-86. While there was still room for improvement in their play, Coach Clark was pleased with the intensity level of a couple of the younger players. Josh Cremasco and Dean Clark in particular are starting to show that they want to play at this level with strong performances. Nick Quinn (who was unavailable due to work commitments on Saturday) has also shown great improvements over the last few games. The biggest news out of the game was the loss of their Captain Snowy Quinn to an ankle injury early in the last quarter. With Snowy Quinn out for some time, the biggest factor for the start of the season, will be the availability of talented local DJ Cremasco, who has been unavailable for much of the pre-season due to work commitments. “DJ is the missing link in many of our pre-season losses” said Coach Clark “If he was available, I would think that we could have won a few of our games. After seeing the playing level in the QBL last season, I believe that a good season in D-League could see DJ as well as Declan Starasts being scouted by a few QBL teams for next season. Mike McDaniel has also been a great example throughout the pre-season, Leading from the front and showing the youngsters the sort of fitness and skills required at this level” Warwicks first game of the season will be played at WIRAC on Saturday the 12th of May at 4pm, with the game being sponsored by Ryannie for Tyres. “We really need a big crowd there to help us with home court advantage. Our crowds are among the most vocal in the league. A lot of teams are envious of our support base” Said Coach Clark
