If history is anything to go by this game should be a nail biter with the Tigers scrapping over the line by 3 and 5 points respectively the last 2 times these teams met in 2011.
But if you are going by 2012 form the Tigers look the stronger side at present as they easily accounted for pre season champions Coolaroo last week with a 44 point victory. Add to this another comfortable win over Lockyer 2 weeks ago and a hard fought 5 point victory in the opening round against Warwick and the Tigers have set a great base for another solid season.
The Cougars on the other hand were disappointing in their 45 point loss to competition leaders Souths last week. The close confines of Harristown Park and greasy conditions clearly didn’t suit the Cougars as they struggled to get first hand on the ball for much of the day.
The Cougars will need to bounce back to form and quickly or they risk losing touch with the top 3 sides who have already opened a 2 game break at the top of the ladder.
In other games the currently undefeated and much improved Highfields Lions are away against Coolaroo at Gold Park. Whilst Coolaroo started the season in impressive style taking out the pre season cup they have soon come back down to earth with 2 loses from their last 2 games. This is a very important game for Coolaroo as they haven’t defeated a team in the top 4 so far this regular season and a loss today will place them 3 games behind the top 3.
Dalby are on the road as they venture to Goondiwindi to take on the Hawks at Riddles oval while Warwick play their second game at their new home ground against the Lockyer Valley and Souths have the bye
