Total Girls Tournament 24th/25th March, Ballarat
Over the weekend, over 1200 girls competed in the above tournament at Ballarat Grammar School in Ballarat. The main principal of the tournament was to promote participation and fun (no boys allowed). The weekend was also an opportunity to see first class football from girls representing schools, clubs and community groups.
Bell Park Sports Club entered an U14 Girls team in the Under 14 B Division. The girls played 6 matches over the weekend finishing on top winning all games and taking out their out their division. Under the supervision of their coach Frank Fierro, the team encountered some stiff resistance from teams from Melbourne and regional Victoria. For the team, this was a first time that the girls all played together.
They hope to continue their success in the winter season playing for Bell Park Sports Club in the Metropolitan Competition.
