Williamstown to overcome two teams
The 2011 Peter Jackson VFL Season saw Williamstown win 14 games and lose only 4, finishing 2nd on the ladder at the end of the Season. Of these four games, Williamstown lost to only two teams; Port Melbourne and North Ballarat. Having played Port in Round’s 7 & 20 and North Ballarat in Round’s 11 & 18; Williamstown lost 3 of these games by an average of only 6 points.
Williamstown will again play Port Melbourne and North Ballarat twice within the 2012 Peter Jackson VFL Season. If they can overcome these rivals, it might make the difference on that one day in September.
Coach’s Comment:
We’re really looking forward to the 2012 Season and returning to our home at Burbank Oval. It will be great to have a home ground advantage again and top class facilities for our players. We’ve been able to bring in a number of quality recruits with the likes of McNamara, Wall and Stockdale, and we’re particularly pleased with the quality of the kids we’ve brought in from the TAC Cup. Being in the Foxtel Cup again presents opportunities to blood some younger players. The playing group have been working extremely hard over the pre-season and we’re now just looking forward to Round 1 against Casey
– Peter German
Next Preview: Port Melbourne
