St Ursula's College have continued their dominance in Female AFL in the region, by taking out the 2012 Youth Girls OPEN Division Title at Middle Ridge Park, their fourth in a row.
Led by Queensland representatives Isabella Baldock and Jade Loch, St Ursula's outclassed every team they come up against, with their attacking game style. St Ursula's have now stretched their undefeated run to 28 games (These 28 games are for the SUC #1 side and for Darling Downs games only).
St Ursula's ONE, Our Lady of the Southern Cross College and St Ursula's TWO, were all sitting atop the round robin ladder going into round 4, all undefeated. Downlands ONE was able to upset the S.U.C. 2nd side by 4points and St Saviours knocked off OLOSCC by 1point. Downlands TWO were able to record their first win of the day, notching up a 26point victory over St Ursula's THREE.
In an injury plagued Grand-Final contested between St Ursula's (1) and Our Lady of the Southern Cross College, both schools fought it out for the first 8minutes and what ended out to be the only 8minutes of the game. St Ursula's in front 1.1 (7) to 0.0 (0) at the time of the stoppage. The game was shortened as OLOSCC fullback went down with a serious back injury and fulltime was called, as paramedics were called.
FINAL PLACINGS: 1st St Ursula's ONE, 2nd Our Lady of the Southern Cross College, 3rd St Ursula's TWO, 4th St Saviours, 5th Downland's College ONE, 6th St Ursula's THREE and 7th Downlands College TWO.
St Ursula's Isabella Baldock was judged MVP for the OPEN Youth Girls Cup, as she edged out fellow St Ursula's and Queensland team mate Jade Loch for the top award.
