TVFC SSF Kids Train With Lucas Neill

Despite a cancelled train, a delayed bus and terrible weather, a lucky group of ten Trafalgar Victory Small Sided Football participants and their parents enjoyed a once in a lifetime training sessions with the Socceroo’s captain, Lucas Neill. The opportunity was presented as a reward for coach Mark Judd’s 2nd place in the Optus SSF Awards program.

First, the kids enjoyed a meet and greet with Lucas as well as a few warm up drills which allowed them to show off both their touch and power.  This was followed by a team photography session with Lucas and an individual chat, signing and photograph with the Australian captain. A SSF game was also played with Lucas refereeing.

All present were delighted by Lucas’ generosity of time and the way in which he engaged and encourage every individual player on the day. He was patient with the kids and encouraged them all to enjoy football. The mothers present were suitably impressed by his good looks and charm.

The kids had a ball and the mothers present were left somewhat flustered following their up close and personal photograph with the handsome Socceroo. At the end of the day all were tired and ready for home. However, the events of the day will be remembered by the kids for years to come and even longer for the mothers present.

TVFC would like to thank Optus and BangPr for this unique opportunity.  The second part of the Optus Awards prize involves four TVFC players sitting on the Socceroo’s bench and a further four joining them for a half time demonstration game at this Wednesday’s world cup qualifier against Saudi Arabia to be played at AAMI Park. All involved eagerly await this opportunity also.
