The Glen Osborne-coached North Harbour Over 30 Women's team put themselves in a strong position for the finals after two strong wins today. First up they took apart the Over 35 Counties Manukau women with an impressive 13-0 victory. Maraea Rameka starred with a number of fine plays including a late cut and pin-point pass to create one of the best touchdowns of the day.
The game was well and truly dominated by Habour with a 7-0 halftime score, the second half started the dame with Lisa Foster cutting between Counties defenders, running the length and scoring a touchdown. Their fitness levels were too good in what was a battle of youth vs experience that was won by the more youthful team.
Canterbury also performed strongly defeating Manawatu 13-2 and Wellington 10-0. Tomorrow morning will see the Habour and Canterbury sqaure off in what should be preview of Sunday's final.
The two Over 35's teams Counties Manukau and Wellington meeting tomorrow as well at 4.30pm.
