Over the break, our area like most has suffered serious flooding and huge damages to communities, also big losses have been reported throughout the area's farming communities, after what promised to be a bumper year, with some crops still being under water or access to and into paddocks at this stage still cut off hindering any final attempts to complete the harvest. With all the challenges that have been placed on us as communities, everyone has pulled together and the clean up and rebuilding, while being a slow process will eventually have things back to normal or as close as they were originally, but there are some things that can never be replaced.
The Charlton and Donald Football Clubs suffered from the floods with Charlton suffering the bigger damage with their Social and Change rooms having close to a metre of water through them, while both clubs will be up and running by the seasons start, this will certainly set their preparations back, to both clubs we wish you well in your efforts to get back to normal ASAP. Slowly there is some assistance coming forward, but in time it will all work out for both clubs.
The North Central Football League was saddened with the passing of Stephen Mitchell, Stephen had volunteered to look after the NCFL website and had made many plans to improve the website in the coming season, as many had mentioned how good the website was it makes us wounder what it would have been, had Stephen been able to fullfil his plans for the future. Stephen who operated "Computer Country Care" in St Arnaud and Donald will be sadly missed by all North Central League Football Followers who visited the website, which had over 250,000 in 2010.
