GEELONG recruit Dom Gleeson admits to having a few nerves as the Cats' VFL practice matches get closer.
The 28-year-old says while he's slotted comfortably into his new surrounds at Simonds Stadium after crossing from Werribee, he wants to show his leadership through his actions on the field.
"No matter what age you are or what you've done elsewhere, you've still got to prove yourself and I feel like that's what I've got to do with these new teammates," Gleeson said.
"It's a bit bizarre starting at a new club. I didn't know a lot of the guys and they didn't know me but I've been really impressed by the young group and the older players as well.
"Playing against them, they take pride in their footy and they really buy into culture of the club as well, which is good."
