This past weekend was spent outside the capital city of Accra at the first Dynasty Art of Balling Clinic held at the Ghana Christian International High School located on the Dodowa-Afianya road. A total of 82 Senior High School kids out of the 300 school student population participated in the two day event which begun on friday 27th January 2012.

First day of the clinic saw the kids go through two stations in the afternoon;Life skills & Basketball Skills stations. The evening session was dedicated to the Student Athlete Guidance Station which involved students learning about who a student athlete is , the benefits, and how to become a successful student athlete.

Day 2 was more exciting and fun as the kids had familiarised with the coaches and the stations. Day 2 started as early as 5am with the kids going through the conditioning and fitness station. After breakfast the life skills and baksetball skills stations continued through out most part of the morning till the afternoon when the kids breaked for lunch. After lunch was the clinic tournament which was filled with fun competition as coaches grouped the participants into fifteen 3on3 teams which played against each other. The rules of the tournament was the FIBA 33 rules which was recently used at the first official FIBA 3on3 event at the maiden youth olympics in 2010. The clinic was climaxed when the All-Star Clinic played against the Coaches and Staff. It was filled with exciting moments as the Vice Principal of the school Mr. Kwesi Mpiani-Brobbe captained the coaches team to victory against the All-Star clinic team.

The entire clinic was a great success story and a good start for the year for Dynasty Basketball. Dynasty is looking forward to following up with a sustainable After school basketball programme within the school in the coming months. The next Art of Balling Clinic will be held in Kumasi.
