Magic Players Head to State Events

2012 State representatives

9 players, 1 referee and 1 coach will be representing Millicent at The Australian Junior Country Cup and Pacific Coast Slam as members of the SA Country Basketball teams in January.

Millicent Basketball had 9 players and one reserve selected at State trials and apart from the reserve all will represent SA Country Basketball at either Albury or Port Macquarie in mid-January. Since selection in November all 9 players have attended a training weekend in Adelaide in early December to train with their teams. They also have been working regularly and extremely hard under the guidance of local coaches Peter Seebohm and Jenny Herbert during late December and early January.

Jamin Howe is a member of the under 18 women's group, Sarah Allan and Sally Houlihan are members of the under 16 girls groups, Alana Winter, Olivia Fuller, Isabella Stratford and Jess Allan are members of the under 14 girls group who will all participate at the week-long Australian Junior Country Cup held in Albury / Wodonga. Keah Lynch was also selected as a reserve for the under 14 girls group.

Ben Wilson is a member of the under 17 boys team and Alex Walker is a member of the under 15 girls team. Both players will be representing SA Country who will compete at the Pacific Coast Slam in Port Macquarie at the same time as Albury.

All 9 of the selected players are also members of the Millicent Magic Town Team groups and the local DNSP training groups and play in the local junior and/or senior competitions.

Daniel Tredrea will also be attending Albury as a referee at the championships. This is the third time Daniel has participated at the event in a refereeing capacity.

Peter Seebohm will be going to Albury as a coach of one of the under 18 girl’s teams.
