Dalby jumped out of the blocks well in the first quarter booting the opening 2 goals of the game but to their credit Downlands answered with a goal of their own at fought back well to finish the quarter only 4 points down.
The second quarter was much the same as the first with Dalby starting the quarter in dominant fashion and Downlands fighting back in the later stages. At half time OLOSCC had opened up a handy 26-16 lead.
In what has been described by many as the turning point in the game OLOSCC broke the game open in the premiership quarter booting 3 goals to nil with big man Hayden Jones stamping his authority on the game and the human wall Mitch Robinson repelling Downlands forward raids. .
Downlands however showed great spirit as they fought out the game well by booting the last 2 goals of the game. In the end OLOSCC Dalby had too many winners across the paddock with Jones, Robinson, Easton, Milford and Mauch all highly contributing to the win 8.3.51 to 4.6.30.
Dalby coach Sam Varley praised the efforts of his group after the game where ruckman Hayden Jones was adjudged best on ground while fellow on baller Brodie Easton won the league MVP award and John Gillett (Downlands) the leading goal kicker for the season.
