Devils exploded out of the blocks scoring 18, 1st quarter points with all but one of their players getting on the score board with Dylan Ridley showing the way with 6 points. Devils had the upper hand and were not going to let Pumas get back into the game but Pumas did tighten up in defence which slowed the scoring. By the half time break Devils had increased the lead to 12 points and looked comfortable whereas Pumas still had trouble getting on the board. In the 2nd half the tight defence of Pumas persisted and they did find Andrew Patten and Fergus Slape some space so they could score but Devils Tyler Stanley was still finding the path to the basket as well and he kept Devils in front to seal the victory.

The 1st quarter was even but Thea Clough was showing her experience scoring 7 of the 9 points for Tigers while Saints had a good spread of players getting on the board. In The 2nd quarter the defence from both teams was incredibly tight with only 5 points being scored for the term by both team combined. Tigers were 3 points up at the break but during the 3rd Maddie Thwaites of Saints decided she was going to make a difference and scored 6 points however Tigers hung in there and in fact gained another 3 points to be 6 up at the last change.
