The National Australia Bank branch in Toowoomba has come on board to support the three clubs that were left to count the cost and clean up the vandalism after the mid-season break in and theft at the Rockville oval clubhouse.
Karen Hopkins from NAB called the AFL office in Toowoomba after the news of the break in was reported on Win TV and in the Toowoomba Chronicle to see where the bank could help. NAB already sponsor the grassroots program AFL Auskick but wanted to dig deeper to help in the local community after the overwhelming situation at Rockville.
The National Australia Bank kindly donated $5,000 to the Toowoomba Tigers, Toowoomba East Stingers and Toowoomba Crows, to help each club move on and get back to where they where before the break in.
Toowoomba Crows Football Operations Manager Jeff Neumann said, "It was fantastic to have the support we did from the community with donating items to help the 3 clubs get back on track but when I received the call from Karen, I was amased of the sum of money that NAB wanted to donate, a big thank you to them".
All three clubs were surprised at the support they received not only from the National Australia Bank but also the community.
"It just shows that, when in crisis, everyone comes together to help out where they can," Neumann stated on the community support the three clubs received.
