EDJBA Weekly Update from the President August 19th 2011

It has been a busy couple of weeks as the Executive come to grips with the task of keeping the competition running and the need for changes brought on by the shifting of the association website to Sporting Pulse.

There have been a number of changes and with change comes the risk of confusion.  Megan Rouse has been assiduous in advising every one of the changes during this process which is a steep learning curve for all concerned, especially yours truly who confesses to being a technological idiot.

However the operational change has been relatively smooth from our point of view and this has been so because of the considerable support from non committee members, David Bacon and Jim Kafkalakis, who have respectively loaded the results and ladders onto the new website or moved all information across to the Sporting Pulse site. Our thanks go to them for the considerable hours they have put in to ensure the above occurs.

Website

We have now moved across to Sporting Pulse and Megan has sent out details of the new web address.  The site will need some further work but the necessary details are now on the new site.  If you are looking for competition details including results, ladders, venues or season dates, please look under the Competition menu where these important items are listed.

Office

The new office is now situated at Templestowe Leisure Centre where Alison Romas and Sue Scott have based themselves.  Tomorrow, Saturday, the telephone, fax and internet will be connected and when done we will be able to advise you on the relevant numbers for these services.

Meetings/Sporting Pulse

Over the past week and in the coming weeks there will be further meetings to investigate ways to use the Sporting Pulse system to further streamline the association’s operations and add services to the members.

All in all it has been a busy couple of weeks as we near the finals for the winter season.

Happy hoops,

Ron Carlton

President  EDJBA

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
