Life member John Green first achieved this feat playing for Coolaroo back in 84,85,86 and on Saturday night Warwick Redbacks midfielder Iles sketched his name into history by winning his third consecutive medal.
In the end 2011 was the easiest of Iles 3 wins as he streaked the field finishing on 28 votes for the regular season with his closest competition coming from runners up Jeremy Leahy (Goondiwindi) and Coolaroo defender Carl Horsfall who both finished 14 votes back on 14 votes.
Iles thanked his teammates and his opposition when receiving this year’s award stating “every team really made me earn it this year as I was tagged pretty closely in most games”. Iles has been a big part of the Redbacks success this year with Warwick finishing the regular season in second place behind the Toowoomba Tigers who wrapped up the minor premiership on the weekend with a comfortable win over Goondiwindi.
Other award winners on the night were leading goal kicker Jason Wright (Warwick) who just pipped partner in crime and fellow teammate Aaron Lawlor. The Karl Price trophy for best U18 player was taken out by Goondiwindi young gun Jo Verney while the Leo Camm Rookie of the year was won by Highfields James Siokos.
Warwick senior coach Peter Millard took out the Coach of the Year honours while the Lockyer Valleys Donna Bowers was a deserving winner of the Club Volunteer of the Year award.
