The last home & away games take place this week with results having no bearing on the premiership table as it now stands. Coming off a general bye last week, teams should be fresh and looking to prepare for the final series.
Lismore Swans are at home to the reigning premiers Tweed Coast Tigers and will be looking to repeat their first round win (the only game the Tigers have lost) to measure themselves for a tilt at the flag. Teams have reported that numbers are good which should see them field strong sides. Tweed had a solid win over second placed Ballina last game and with a number of top players coming back they will start favourites. Lismore had a big win against Byron Magpies last game and are running into form at the right time. Both teams have good on-ball & midfield players with Lye, Pursell & Bevan giving the Tigers their drive and should give their many goalkickers good service. Lismore lead by Bevan, Bruce & Fielder are equal to their opposition so the clearances will be vital. This game will be played at a very fast pace and if Tweed Coast are not on their game Lismore could take the points.
In the other game, Byron Magpies are at home to the Ballina Bombers. Despite having struggled for numbers all year, the Magpies have played some good football but only in small doses and it will be a major upset if they take the points. The Bombers have players returning and should be at full strength. Byron have lost key forward Doug Perich who has moved to WA for work reasons and this has left the Magpies without a reliable goalkicker. With Redford, Clarke, Bulzomi & Fisher in the mid field the Bombers will be at very short odds to take the points.
