KOBY STEVENS will add to a resurgent West Coast arsenal when the Eagles tackle St Kilda in a crucial clash for both sides in Melbourne tomorrow.
The strongly-built midfielder was named on an expanded interchange bench for tomorrow's game. West Coast plays the Saints at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne.
The young Victorian (pictured) was recruited from TAC Cup side Gippsland Power in 2009. He has been in devastating form for East Fremantle in the WAFL.
The Eagles are coming off from what has been regarded as their greatest home-and-away win in recent times when they toppled league pacesetters Geelong at Subiaco Oval last round.
Stevens, who turned 20 last month, played a minor role in that match and looks a handy match-up for the Saints.
Stevens was West Coast's second-round selection number 22 in the 2009 national draft.
He's a hard-at it ball-winner and uses his physicality to win plenty of contested ball. He is averaging 20 possessions per game in the 13 matches he's played for the Sharks this season and he's become something of a tackle machine. This season in the WAFL, he has executed 67 effective tackles which is over and above his 23 from 14 WAFL games last season.
Stevens played five games for West Coast in his AFL debut season last year.
Demons keep door open for Wonaeamirri
AUSTIN WONAEAMIRRI will be part of Melbourne's plans for 2012 although the Tiwi Islander is no certainty to play AFL football again this year.
Wonaeamirri this week has told club officials he won't be returning to Melbourne in the immediate future.
The 22-year-old was granted compassionate leave in May to deal with the death of his dad, Matthew, and mentor, Maurice Rioli.
The Demons are in Darwin preparing for their AFL match with Port Adelaide.
