It is an appropriate time to remind members in the League of their responsibilities under the SAWFL's Code of Conduct in regard to Social Networking e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.
In recent times, there have been incidents of League members using obscene language, bullying and derogatory remarks towards other members. As a result, the League is currently investigating, through the SANFL, a case of defamation through a social network site.
As in the case of the defamation, any other instances proven, will then have disciplinary action taken against those members involved, which could lead to dismissal of members from the League.
With the recent introduction of U16 and U18 Girls into Women's Football (who are a target group of Social Networking sites), SAWFL Members must be more diligent as they are considered to be a role model and should act accordingly. However, this also does not exclude U16 and U18 Girls as they are the future of the League.
