SAFER SPORT COORDINATOR VISIT.

Last Friday Basketball Mount Gambier welcomed Nick Drury, Safer Sport Program Coordinator of the SA Branch of Sports Medicine Australia, to the Stadium. He worked with approximately 30 6-8 year old junior basketballers, demonstrating a series of practical warm up activities prior to their normal basketball sessions.

The focus on sports warm ups and stretching is changing. The current trend is away from static stretching to dynamic activities in which stretching is done through movement using muscles in the way they are used in games.

Drury is a member of the Sa Sports Medicine team who ran a series of sessions for local clubs last weekend. These sessions included Advanced Taping, sports Massage and Nutrition.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
