Reserve Teams Shine at Association Championships

The Central East Zone Association Championships were held this Sunday at Knox Netball Centre.  This is the annual tournament where our 13U, 15U and 17U teams playoff against all other Metro associations East of Melbourne to qualify for the Victorian Association Championships.  At this tournament there is opportunities for our girls to be individually Talent Identified by Netball Victoria for future development.

We had 5 teams representing our Association on Sunday, a 13U and 15U in the Championship divisions and a 13U, 15U and 17U in the Reserve divisions.

Our Reserve Teams were the standout performers for us at this tournament.  Our 13U team came runners up, Stevo's 15U won the Grand Final and Shaz's 17U made the Semi's (dispite loosing players to sickness and broken noses on the day).  Our Reserve teams played and beat a number of Team 1's during the day so it was a fantastic performance by them.

Things weren't quite so rosey for our 13U and 15U Championship teams - I think even they would agree that it wasn't their best performance.  Both teams lost games they should have won and ended up 4th in their Pools.

All up, it was an overall better performance by our teams than last year and improvement is number 1 thing we want to see from our teams.
