WAYNE HOLDSWORTH RE-APPOINTED AS SOUTHERN FOOTBALL LEAGUE CEO UNTIL OCTOBER 2013
SFL Board Chairman, Mark Seymour announced today that the League CEO, Wayne Holdsworth has had his employment contract extended through to October 2013.
“We have one of the best administrators in sport representing the SFL and the Board acted quickly to ensure Wayne would continue in his role of revitalizing and expanding the League” said Mark. He went on to say that “In my discussions with our member Clubs, there is universal support and acceptance of the job he has done since first taking up the position”.
Since Wayne assumed the CEO’s role in September 2007, the SFL has consolidated not only on field with increasing player and umpire numbers but also financially recording healthy surpluses over the last four years. In addition, he has been instrumental in attracting new clubs to the League with Bentleigh and Endeavour Hills both joining the SFL for the 2011 season.
Mark observed that “Having Wayne with the League for at least a further two years provides stability and underpins our overall strategy of the SFL being a fun, safe, fair and inclusive sporting competition for all the community”.
On his reappointment CEO Wayne Holdsworth commented ” it is always a privilege to be actively involved with many valued volunteers that represent sporting clubs and more particularly the SFL clubs. The SFL have made inroads into meeting the objectives of the SFL Strategic plan but still have a deal of work to do and I am looking forward to working with our member clubs along with Maree, Kingsley, Matt, and the SFL Board in the next 2 years at least in making a further positive difference.” He added “ The SFL is now considered to be a viable option for players, clubs, and stakeholders to be involved with and the SFL has now a very strong commercially astute Board lead by Mark Seymour and it’s always a pleasure working with them to achieve our objectives”
