Under 14 Boys win Division 3
The Under 14 Boys have won the Division 3 State title held in Ballarat. The team was coached by Mat Dukes. The boys trailled for the entire match and only got ahead with a basket with 13 seconds left to win 40-39.
The side consisted of Scott van Dyk, Jordan Bianconi, Josh Taylor, Harry Sim, Rhys Anderson, Josh Clerks, Anthony "Tanka" Rosato, Hayden Prestidge and Jonathon "Johnno" Tatnell. Julie Sim was team manager. Conratulations to all involved, especially the families who travelled up to Ballarat.
The boys just missed on Day 1 making the upper section on Day 1 with a narrow loss to Mildura. But from there onwards were undefeated. On Day2 they accounted for Maryborough (55-27), Benalla (69-29) and Swan Hill (43-31). that put the boys into the finals on Day3.
They beat local rivals Traralgon (44-37) in the quarter finals and Albury (45-38) in the semi-finals.
