Girls just want to Play Footy!

Girls from all over the Darling Downs are lining up to partake in the inaugural girls AFL under 18 club side for season 2011. The side will play in the Quest Community Newspaper Under 18 Brisbane Juniors competition in season 2011 as girls footy is on the incline across Queensland.

The first training session kicked off last Sunday (3/4) at Harristown Park, with great numbers. All girls aged 14 to 18 years of age are welcome to come and train, as well as play.

2011 coach and the regions Development Officer Jeff Neumann says," The program gives all girls in the region the same opportunity as the boys from club footy to representative football. We have a number of girls wanting to play, which is fantastic and really pushes the need of a regional based competition in the near futre."

Sunday 22^nd May – 9:00am – Harristown Park

Sunday 19^th June – 3:30pm – Harristown Park
