MAC DADDY TAKES CROWN AT UNI GAMES FUNDRAISER

The first battle of the Intervarsity Games was last night fought, not on the basketball court, but on the catwalk of Room 680 in Glenferrie. Contestants from LTU, Deakin and RMIT strutted their stuff in front celebrity judges, Shelley Hammonds, Curtis Small and Nazza O'Brien in a bid for the King and Queen of IV for 2005.

The packed house was worked into a frenzy as contestants tried to outdo each other in the entertainment stakes. RMIT's Paul Meagher, the athletes athlete, walked out in a pink and purple 1 piece swimsuit that had the crowd wanting more. Senad Dizdarevic ripped his bonds singlet off and bounced around the stage in his bid for crowd approval. However, it was the chiselled frame of LTU's very own Paul McMaster that eventually got the judges nod. Walking out in a Hawaian shirt and board shorts, Mac Daddy quickly disrobed to reveal fluro green trunks and a body that had all the girls drooling (and some of the guys!).

The women's section was just as competitive as the mens. The girls somehow made basketball (and football) uniforms incredibly sexy. The swimsuit section had the whole crowd going nuts and it was lucky the crowd were seperated from the contestants as there could have been a stampede. Eventually a winner was decided and Deakin Uni's Emily Troice was the victor. Imported from the Deakin women's footy side for the evening due to some last minute pullouts, Troice proved to be not only a crowd favourite but also for 1 judge in particular. According to celebrity judge Nazza O'Brien, fellow judge, Curtis Small, didn't blink once and had to pick his jaw off the floor!

The night was a huge success and those who came continued to party long and hard well after the king and queen were crowned. Special thanks goes to MC, Clint Fillipou and the celebrity judges, Shelley Hammonds, Curtis Small and Nazza O'Brien. Special thanks also go to the particpants who came to support a worthy cause.
