The Lockyer Valley NAB AFL Auskick centre at Peace Lutheran Primary school has smashed the old Darling Downs participants record, which was set by Rangeville State School back in 2008 of 107 participants.
Peace Lutheran Primary school reached 123 participants by the second week, with many more expected to sign on during the 3rd week.
AFL Queensland put in place a special price for the flood devastated region, of $20 per participant and by signing on and paying the $20 each participant received; a NAB AFL Auskick green or pink footy, a green and blue or pink NAB AFL Auskick backpack, hat, waterbottle, footy pump, NAB AFL Auskick passport, plus loads more of cool gear and for participants who registered and paid online, they received per participant 4 passes to a Brisbane Lions game in 2011.
So far, the 100 plus participants and their parents have shared the experience of bombing the AFL staff in bomb the teacher, battling it out against each other in concentration and most importantly are all keen on the last week when the participants take on their parents, older brother or sister, or even grand parents in the annual and excitement filled game of Kids verse parents in week 8 of the program.
