Youth Men fall at the Final hurdle

Although the Taipans started the brighter they found themselves on the wrong end of a 3-0 score line after only 10 minutes. The long ball distribution of the Boomerangs goalie twice catching the young South Coast men off guard. The Taipans continued to have the majority of the possession and some good futsal led to captain Sam Davies pulling a goal back before halftime.

The boys new that the next goal was crucial and some more good futsal was only thwarted by some excellent keeping from the Canberra man between the sticks. Another assist from him and the Taipans were 4-1 down.

The Taipans continued to test the Boomerangs keeper but he had all the answers. As time ticked away the Taipans continued to plug away at the Canberra goal, finally being rewarded by a Brad Ferraro goal quickly followed by a second for Davies. But it was too little too late as time ran out on the boys and they finally succumbed to their first defeat of the season.

On the bright side, the boys had an excellent season and fought right up until the final whistle. They are a very young side and will have taken a lot away from this game.

Well done to the Boomerangs who played their part in an exciting game and good luck in the Premiership.
